Full seat breeches are equestrian riding pants that features a large patch of leather that starts at mid-calf and reaches to the lower third of the seat of the pants. They're worn in dressage and hunter/jumper competitions alike for their adherent properties. That is, the leather seat improves contact between rider and horse to prevent sliding. The full seat allows the rider to sit back down in the saddle without sliding after a jump, and helps a dressage rider stay quiet in a slick saddle. They can also be worn during schooling over jumps and learning how to perform dressage patterns.
